MiRAI evolves: conversation mode with Claude and voice second brain
April 19, 2026.
MiRAI now talks to Claude.
This weekend we completed the biggest leap in the voice assistant: MiRAI does not just listen and respond, it can now hand off complex tasks to Claude in real time. When you want to go deeper on something, you say "pass this to Claude". MiRAI summarizes the context, deposits it as a task, and Claude picks it up and executes it. The response comes back as audio directly to your phone.
We completely restructured the voice codebase. The 800-line monolith was split into specialized modules: router, local Ollama models, and independent behavior cubos (chat, home automation, skills, complex tasks). Cleaner, easier to scale.
MiRAI can now tell you what is on your calendar, search emails by sender, look up contacts, and retrieve notes by voice. All without picking up your phone.
The PWA works with the screen locked. Audio arrives as a push notification even when the app is in the background. We added a hands-free mode for headphones: the microphone activates automatically after each response.
Is there still a lot to polish? Yes. Does it work already? Also yes.
